I've hurted my back 2 years ago in the gym. Because i did not wanted to rest i started using a belt. Result: after a half year, i finally broke down and had to revalidate for 6 months in a clinic. The doctors strongly advise against a belt. Also they advised me not to lift heavy weigts more then.
Now , 2 years later, my back is stronger than ever! It's the strongest group i have.
